ID moth from drawing

I saw this moth today in Moscow, Russia, but I didn’t have a chance to take a photo. If it’s possible, can I get an ID of what it might be? If anyone has any more questions about its appearance I’ll answer what I remember

you should probably post this to the main iNaturalist platform rather than in the forum. i don’t think a drawing posted to iNaturalist is any less desirable than a photo posted to iNaturalist, especially one with this much detail.

I didn’t know drawings were okay to post as observations. Going to do this now, thanks!

There’s a project for drawings: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/nature-drawing-and-journaling.

Chuck @gcwarbler has one of my favorite moth field note observations:

Yes, it’s not obligatory to include a photo or even a sketch or a sound recording. (Obviously if you can’t provide sufficient evidence to convince others in the iNat community to confirm the ID then it won’t ever become Research Grade, and a photo is the easiest way of providing that evidence generally.)

5 posts were split to a new topic: Are drawings permitted as observation evidence?

please post drawings for identification at iNaturalist, not the forum. thanks!
