iNat backtracks on Phoebis marcellina?

I manage two regional butterfly projects, and I have been telling observers that their P. sennae observations are actually P. marcellina. Up until at least November of last year, iNat was behind this specie designation, but now it is gone. It seems as though iNat has not only backtracked on this, but curators have gone through most of the posts and changed the species designation on all the P. marcellina observations back to P. sennae. Where can I find an official reason for this change?

Hi, welcome to the iNat Forum!

On any taxon page, e.g. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/312697-Phoebis-sennae-marcellina, you can click Taxonomy, and then Taxon Changes: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes?taxon_id=312697

Looks like there is an active discussion about this taxon here: https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/803179

Okay thanks! I’m just getting a handle on the navigation here. Yeah, it seems as though the team corrected what they considered an error in initially elevating P. marcellina to species level because it was not reflected in BoA. Anyway I at lease have an answer. Thanks again!
