iNat Milestones

Today is my sixth anniversary of joining iNaturalist. It’s been six years of learning, exploring, learning some more, have my mind blown by the biodiversity out there everywhere, and maybe helping some other people engage with the natural world as well. Thanks, everyone, it’s been a real pleasure using iNaturalist these past six years - I’m hoping for many more!

Certainly is pretty awesome to be making it into books. Te Papa will have one of my Mata in a book they are bringing out around april, which I am looking forward to seeing.

Congratulations, Lynn!
Thank you for introducing me and so many other people to iNaturalist.

iNaturalist has helped me be a better observer of what I am seeing outdoors. The act of noticing, and recording for others, requires us to slow down, and really be in the place we are walking through.

Going on trips with you and Karro has been great, even if you talk in Latin.

I was very surprised to find out yesterday that I was the first (and until now only) observer of a species: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/862618-Prospero-hierapytnense

Not my milestones, but the iNat site just passed both 500,000 species reaching research grade and 400,000 identifiers. Both are nice milestones for the site,
