I certainly will, when the warm weather returns.

The museum I volunteer for runs four seasonal bioblitzes every year, and this past weekend has been the winter bioblitz. For the other seasons, I fully embrace the gamification aspect of that and put in extraordinary amounts of time to top the leader boards (while still not lowering my standards for observations). But this weekend…I don’t often get decent photos of birds (except for the rare occasions when one is accustomed to people and lets me get close enough) and I usually don’t observe trees (especially avoiding bare tree trunks) and while I could have made a token observation of some dried out plant remains poking out of the snow, it was just too cold!

I’ll stay inside and find some more to ID.

Check mine out so far… it’s summer here… that’s why I’ve observed so much recently.

Well, I made about 5,000 IDs in January. I also got like 150 observations which is pretty good for winter in Alaska, I think.

IDing winds me up, leaves me too excited. If I do it in the evening I have trouble getting to sleep.

Yay, thank you!

I think I’m doing pretty well! And I am still very much behind on uploading (I’ve been sick for days, and had a LOT of schoolwork to catch up on). There will be a lot of obs very soon!
Also gotta love the fact that “Other animals” is that big darker blue section (102 observations!!)

4.5k IDs too though…not bad for either!

Stumbled on this and added 1 more ID to make it 50000 IDs!

Hmm that’s a lot of id’s (459.25 id’s per day) maybe I should go outside more

It is also interesting that my observation and species number are what other people have in a full year…so maybe I am getting enough outdoor time.

Didn’t get a lot of IDing done (by my own standards) in January this year, been busy, still a bunch though.

Working through the last few days of my backlog of observations and reached a repunit repidigit of species observed. 11,111 species. It will be quite a while before I reach the next one.
