Passed 60,000 IDs yesterday!! If I keep going the way I am, I should have 100,000 by the end of this year or early next year.

@isopodguy is a tough act to follow, but I finally cracked 20,000 IDs. (And made sure I caught the moment)

I usually ID for an hour or two a day, but during the recent New England/New York “ID-athon” I kind of went crazy. I bet you can tell when that was, from this graph:

I’ve ID’d for over 5600 observers. It doesn’t quite seem possible!

(I have a bad habit of IDing in certain areas, rather than picking a taxon, so I have a lot of repeat customers. But I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone at least a little bit.)

I don’t pick taxons. I have found that I’m better with general IDs and letting someone else take it further. Much of my time is spent in the Unknowns.

I finally put my snorkelling photos in Vanuatu from January onto iNat! I used an underwater camera and procrastinated putting the photos up. I had never had any underwater iNat sessions before then, and (assuming my picks of the species from computer vision were right, which are probably not) I have almost 15 new species!
