iNaturalist Ambassador Community Chat

I think I got it via Googling it  but happy to share.

The more people helping with sharing info, helping to organize events, etc., the better, I think.

Hi All,

I have a suggestion for the organizers of the Ambassador program, and I thought I’d run it by here first to see if anyone else thinks it’s a good idea or if there is any level of interest at all.

I would like it if there was a name badge for Ambassadors. A simple tag with the iNaturalist logo, the title Ambassador, and my name. I’m working with a number of groups in the next few months, from school age to retirees, and having something “official” looking would be helpful. (I know there could be an expense associated with this, but first I would just like to find out if this is a potentially good idea and if there is interest among other ambassadors).

All the best, Richard

I think the certified naturalist is the same as the one we have in Florida - the Florida Master Naturalist Program. I’m up in Citrus County, and we do a few bioblitzes a year! A friend is organizing a spring bioblitz with a few agencies.

Hola! New ambassador here :)

I’m a biologist based in Chihuahua, Mexico, and I’m thrilled to join this community. I’ve been part of iNaturalist since 2014, starting with my own observations, and since 2017, I’ve been supporting other users through training sessions and nature walks (bioblitzes). We are very excited to start collaborating more closely and organizing more activities with all of you!

Hi everyone! I’m Daniel Hetzel, from San Diego, California, USA. I just became an iNaturalist Ambassador, and I am excited for this opportunity! Glad to meet you all! Are there other chats for Ambassadors that are more focused on specific topics?

Hello SF Bay Area iNaturalist Ambassadors! I am inviting you to join us for a special event on April 11, 2026, at Sonoma State University’s Galbreath Wildlands Preserve in Mendocino County (right on the border of Sonoma County). This preserve is only open for guided public outings a couple of times per year. This is your chance to experience a portion of the preserve while participating in iNaturalist by providing documentation of species for the preserve species list! We will also be diving into using the website features to help users provide more detailed information on your on observations as well as for those you are ID-ing for.

This event is FREE and registration is required. Please completely read the information on the link below. Pay particular attention to driving directions as your Google Maps or other apps will NOT get you to the right place! :)

This is hosted by SSU Preserve Manager Margot Rawlins, Sarah Reid (@wildmare64) and Cat Chang, iNat Board Member.
