Hi. Any Ohio Ambassadors on here? What activities are you planning? I’ve added the newer app to my phone since that’s probably the default for any new users and will probably start with having a table somewhere. Ambassador-program
Hi!
I am not planning any activities, nor have I actually officially signed up, because I’m not sure what counts as an activity, and the examples I’ve seen all seem like a huge thing to ask from volunteers.
Currently most of my spare nature-activity planning energy is going to scheduling talks for the local Audubon Society. (It feels like it would be abusing my position as de facto talk-scheduler to schedule myself to talk about iNaturalist.)
I have not installed the newer app, because there isn’t one (for android). Tabling in my area is way too labor-intensive for one person to do effectively.
I have registered as an ambassador. I am currently trying to figure out whether I would be able to hold a workshop as part of my work hours. I work for the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
I am based in northern Ohio. One of the naturalists for Erie MetroParks (Mike) has also signed up as an ambassador. We have had preliminary discussions (a couple of texts) about partnering up for a workshop. Sarah, you could join in on that once the discussion moves forward.
Where abouts in Ohio are you, Chris?
Edit: Sarah - if you wanted to have an iNaturalist talk for the Audubon Society, perhaps Mike or I could do it…? I’m hoping to attend more meetings soon, and Mike has also expressed an interest with getting involved again.
I have not signed up but if there are open meetings of ambassadors that include non-ambassadors, I’d be interested in possibly attending. I’m not opposed to becoming one but would only do it if it fits in with what I’m already doing. It seems possible that it might.
I’m in SW Ohio.
Central Ohio here and will be watching this like a hawk!
Im in NW Ohio and very interested.. waiting to see more of it formalize before I commit.
Maybe we can all three get credit for that? ![]()
The Ambassador slide show seems short enough that it could be possible to use as a side program and not a main program, so I might use it at our Audubon group members night.
I’m over in eastern Stark County. We have an Audubon group, and some of the libraries might like programs.
I’m currently debating signing up and also trying to figure out if programs would be something useful to do on my work time. Summit here.
