Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website.

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About):

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Firefox.

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: https://mexico.inaturalist.org/projects/aves-de-salinas-de-hidalgo-san-luis-potosi

Screenshots of what you are seeing (instructions for taking a screenshot on computers and mobile devices: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/):

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: I am the owner of a project set in Mexico, which can be found here: https://mexico.inaturalist.org/projects/aves-de-salinas-de-hidalgo-san-luis-potosi

Step 2: As part of the project, I want to know the observations that users put within the municipality of Salinas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Step 3: However, when using the filter in the project settings, I write the municipality of Salinas and I get a wrong polygon representing the municipality. There are parts of the municipality that are not included (in red) and parts outside of the municipality that are included (in blue). Therefore, I cannot analyse the data of this project.

the places you have selected for your project were created by other users.

this is the municipality that iNat has from GADM: https://mexico.inaturalist.org/places/37644.

If you have a polygon for the correct boundary, you can add this as a custom place and use it for your project.

Thanks so much, I got it solved!

Thank you! I got it solved, but would you please tell me how to do that? I’ve never done it in this website.

Sure, there is a guide to making a custom place on the Help site: https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/articles/151000175019-how-to-make-a-place-on-inaturalist
