Introduced Status Not Displaying

Platform: Web

Browser, if a website issue: Edge Version 141.0.3537.99

Description of problem:

The Research Grade observation linked above meets the criteria for being classed as introduced in Algeria. However, upon trying to add the species to the taxon check list for this region, the page displays the message ‘This list is empty! Try adding some species using the form on this page.’ despite there being no such form. This suggests that the standard approach for updating status outlined here: How to add or edit Establishment Means in iNaturalist : iNaturalist Help, is no longer functional.

Step 1: Using the Header Search, search for Algeria, select ‘About’, and then ‘View Check List Page’ (https://www.inaturalist.org/check_lists/7647-Algeria-Check-List).

Step 2: Type ‘Vespa velutina’ in the search bar within the ‘Stats’ region.

Step 3: The message ‘This list is empty! Try adding some species using the form on this page.’ will display, however there is no visible form, and thus no way to add the species (https://www.inaturalist.org/check_lists/7647-Algeria-Check-List?q=&view=photo&taxon=119019&observed=any&threatened=any&establishment_means=any&occurrence_status=not_absent&rank=species&taxonomic_status=active).

Welcome to the forum!

The “form” is just a box on the right that appears when you click the + next to Add to List

Thank you for the rapid response, I don’t seem to be able to see the ‘Add to List’ or ‘Edit Taxa’ options when I follow these steps.

They made a change earlier this year that wasn’t added to the help doc, sorry. Accounts now must be older than some minimum age, and have more than some minimum number of observations in order to edit establishment means. It should read the same as for editing taxon photos.

most users (aside from relatively new accounts and/or accounts with few verifiable observations) can edit taxon photos.

@thomas2185 I’ve granted you the proper privileges here, since you’ve made over a hundred IDs and I think it’s safe to say you’re not a troll account.

I don’t think there’s a bug here, for what it’s worth, but I will update the FAQ page since it’s not correct.
