Is there a way to see how many observations you've marked as cultivated?

I’ve been going through Ohio’s conifer observations, probably around 75% of which are cultivated trees that haven’t been marked so. I’ve probably marked at least five thousand as captive/cultivated in the DQA so far. Just curious, is there a way to see how many I’ve observations I’ve marked cultivated (or other DQA things)?

You can get a good approximation by going to explore and checking the “captive/cultivated” and “reviewed” boxes.

Oh thanks I hadn’t thought of that!

That works well if you’ve ID’d them!

But I’ve sure marked a lot as captive/cultivated without ID’ing - it’d be interesting to see those numbers (if there’s a way)!

Marking as captive/cultivated on the identify page automatically marks it as reviewed too, whether or not you IDed it

@bouteloua - Would you mind testing that on your end really quick? For me, it’s not marking it as reviewed if I just mark the captive/cultivated button.

yes, I tested it before i posted

Weird - I think I’ve got a “bug” of some sort - I’ll have to fiddle around. It doesn’t appear to have ever marked them as “reviewed” for me when I just mark them as captive/cultivated. And it’s still not - I thought that was just the way things worked!

Are you using the “Captive/Cultivated” checkbox under the photos in the Identify modal, or the “Organism is wild” buttons under Data Quality? For me, the first method always marks “Reviewed”, but the second does not.

Do you want the obs you have marked as Cultivated to NOT be marked Reviewed?
If I have done the ID / Annotation / DQA, I mostly don’t want to see that obs again. It is also quicker and more efficient to use the Identify modal (where you can use the keyboard shortcut - click X for Not Wild) Then mark that batch as Reviewed, and Next.

Aha! Thanks @twainwright - that’s what’s going on. I’m typically on the computer, and I use the “Organism is wild” buttons under Data Quality. So, that’s why it doesn’t get marked reviewed.

Not entirely sure why it hadn’t really occurred to me to use the “Captive/Cultivated” checkbox, as I know it’s right there - that’s definitely quicker!

Occasionally I’m on the Android app, and apparently that maps directly to the buttons under Data Quality, too. Which fully explains why nothing gets marked reviewed. :slightly_smiling_face:

@DianaStuder - I actually like that they’re not marked reviewed! I don’t typically try to ID them when I’m marking them as cultivated, but theoretically I’m perfectly willing to look at the observation again some other time.

Anyway, i’m glad going to explore and checking the “captive/cultivated” and “reviewed” boxes more-or-less gives you guys the number of observations you’ve marked as cultivated,

I’m still curious how many I’ve done myself - it feels like a lot - but sometimes it’s perfectly fine for things to remain a mystery!

Even quicker is using the keyboard shortcut : X. The Identify page is designed to be used almost entirely with the keyboard and not a mouse, so learning the shortcuts is really helpful.
