It's been 4 hours since my butterfly has emerged and it's wings is still crumpled

I’m not a butterfly expert, so maybe others will correct me, but I suspect if it’s been this long and they’re still not unfurled then unfortunately it won’t happen at all. Metamorphosis goes wrong sometimes

you may want to research or post to the main iNaturalist.org site to see if this could have been caused by a parasite or disease. if so, you may want to euthanize and sterilize. your butterfly doesn’t look like a Monarch, but just as an example, Monarchs have a well-known parasite OE that can cause issues in wing development like this, and it can be highly transmissible.

What is this species? Maybe it is dehydrated, otherwise I suspect that it hasn’t devloped all the way :-(

If this is a butterfly that has been raised indoors I would suggest moving it into the sunlight.
