Make coloured project area transparent, especially on satellite view

I find the yellow “geographical area” overlay in a project makes it difficult to read the map underneath, especially with satellite view – would it be possible to have only the outer edge, or a layer option?
This is how a Project area looks

and the same area on the “Explore” view

I like that the shading clearly shows what’s in and what’s out. If it were easy to implement, a toggle to turn on and off that shading would be cool… But maybe default it to on and just toggle it off when need to see the detail…

i have a question that roughly fits to this question by OP above, so i just ask here instead of opening a new thread. My question is not meant to be a feature request though.
Within the kml file one can define colours for outlines etc, I didn’t try it yet, but will the colours i choose within the kml file be preserved during upload and then be shown on iNaturalist, or will iNaturalist overwrite the colour information and make it that standard orange i use to see in iNat areas?
Any technical experts, preferably people who tried or iNat staff, do you know?

iNat doesn’t retain any styling that’s been previously applied, including color.

I tried in the meanwhile, with a tiny test upload. The kml i uploaded clearly contained the colour information for a dark blue (1976d2) … yes comes out as always in orange, good to know. I was thinking about uploading coastal / marine protected areas in blue, to allow for an intuitive map … orange they are and will be.
Thanks for your answer bouteloua!
