Some beauties in last night’s traps:
Pink-masked Pyralid Moth and Orange-headed Callima Moth, assuming I got the names correct.

I sort of hate that Moth Week occurs this time of year. It is usually very dry and I see even fewer moths than I would on a warm winter day. I was happy to see this Autographa corusca though.
What is the white crystal like stuff the moths are on? Is it just sand? Your moths blend in very well.
It is wind blown sand. The natural camouflage is superb. Keeping one eye on them is required.
We’ve been having a lot of thunderstorms this week, but last night I turned on my porch light for a few hours, from sunset until bedtime. I got four moth visitors.
The Posturing Arta Moth. Only two Arta species have been observed in the NC Coastal Plain, and this is the less often observed. Its reddish tone should rule out the more frequently seen Olive Arta.
After photographing these, I turned off the light before going to bed. I didn’t want to hold them captive, which the light does. If I’m not awake to see them, no reason to keep them from going about their own errands.
Sorry, between Moth Week and busy time of me at work, I’m running behind on lots of stuff (1500 pics to still go through). Intention was what was being seen during this Moth Week.
10 lifers so far this week, but I still have soooo many pictures to go through, although I think almost all of them are not new.

Yes, see bumblebees and falcons. The second might be a different Tineidae and Acrolophus traditionally require dissection.
Lesser Maple Spanworm
You can ID renia to species?
The CV really helps.
After awhile I can see the differences. It seems a new learning curve each year though.
I’m cool whenever someone lets me know I’m wrong.
It sure does I find that every time a new season starts.
