I’m hoping someone can help me sort something out. I obscure quite a few of my sightings for all of the reasons people typical obscure theirs, but when I’m logged in they are even obscured from me. I see there is an option to “trust” selected people with obscured sightings, I want to be trusted with my own sightings. Any advice or instruction on how to fix this? Is a problem when I’m trying to view my observations from a particular spot and they aren’t showing up because they are scattered about the map due to being obscured. Thanks.
Go to Edit Observations → Search, adjust the ‘Geoprivacy’ and ‘Taxon Geoprivacy’ settings, and hit Search.
This will return your obscured observations and the locations are visible to you. If you zoom into the small map on the side you’ll see each observation displays 2 locations, the actual observed position and the obscured position.
If you’re looking at your observations via the “Your Observations” tab it’s just doing a general search using your user name, so the view is obscured, but if you go to the actual observation page for any of your obscured observations the actual location should be visible.
