Thank you very much for your answer. No, I did’nt get looked out.
I can see my dashboard at the same time.
I tried in the meanwhile some different VPN Countries, because I thought, it could depend from the country settings submitted by the browser - but there is no difference as well.
I can’t see the button. :( Yesterday in the late afternoon (local time in Switzerland), the button still was there.
Both browsers are used in latest version, there is no update waiting.
I wonder if you are running into some kind of spam prevention measure. I know there have been some recent changes to who can edit taxon photos as a result of some abuse of this feature, so maybe privileges for common names were changed as well?
This is based on the fact that I notice that you have a bunch of IDs but no observations, and I believe there is a mechanism where certain functions (displaying a profile text) are automatically activated only after a user has a number of RG observations as a rough measure for determining they are legitimate, but for users who are only active as IDers this obviously doesn’t happen and they have to be manually approved.
This sounds very understandable and logic to me. That should be the explanation of the phenomenon. Thanks!
I’m a swiss botanist and use iNat to improve my foto ID knowledge and use it to see the “difficult” conditions, where plants are not easily identifyable over the year. Some kind of winter training.
And beside this, when I see, something is missing, I add it, or report it, if suitable, as I do for all things, I work with. If this don’t meet the interests of iNat, this would be a pity. But I think, iNat is interested in such a support by its users.
Who can I contact to be “approved” as an ID person? I think, I did some good work last year to bring iNat forward. And I can understand, that they must do something against “spam” - where some people of the world have wrong ideas.
We added some new requirements for adding common names and it includes a minimum number of verifiable observations made. I manually granted you the proper privileges, you should be able to do it now.
