I noticed a big amount of observations with wrong year set, like a month before I checked and there were zero, no it’s like many people are wandering in XIX century, on one observation the observer says the system doesn’t allow to change the year, can it be investigated, please?

This seems to be an issue with the phone app only (at the very least with iPhone, I don’t know if it’s the same for Samsung). If I go to any observation on the app, I can’t change the year either. But I can change it on the website.

Yes, there’s no year picker in the iOS app, the assumption being that the photo you take or import will have a correct date. Curious as to what happened here. I’ll comment on the observation. FWIW, here’s the date picker in iOS (en français, as I’m testing common names in the beta version):

Yes, but that can get very confusing.
Oh, absolutely. I tried it on an iPhone, but I wasn’t willing to commit and select a date to see if it actually changed the year.
