Order: Testudines

The two Suborders: Cryptodira and Pleurodira are missing. They need to be inserted, it is a fundamental division.

For that - you need to find the higher taxon page.
Then Flag for curation.

I don’t know how to do it, I’ve been using this website for a few days.

I did it for you.
Please respond to questions there (if the curators ask for references about these suborders):
https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/763405

If you know publications about these suborders and know what existing taxa on iNat have to be grafted in these suborders, it could be useful to add it in comment in the flag page.

It’s worth mentioning that the flag you just opened is a duplicate, an existing flag already exists for the same purpose (https://inaturalist.ca/flags/705151), and has been open for 6 months.

Thank you very much!
These two Suborders are not new, turtles have “always” been classified in this way, in fact it is strange that they have not been included on inaturalist. A link as proof could be this:

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/357761403_Turtles_of_the_World_Annotated_Checklist_and_Atlas_of_Taxonomy_Synonymy_Distribution_and_Conservation_Status

Can you add that link to the first flag (I see you have a comment there)?
More info helps to keep the discussion active.

This is probably also a relevant discussion flag for this topic: https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/524030

EDIT: and see also the flag at the bottom of that page, which has the most relevant discussion on a similar topic within a different Reptilia group, and is also still awaiting staff resolution:

The important thing is that someone takes care of inserting these suborders. If the topic already existed it doesn’t matter, I didn’t want to make a duplicate. But if it has existed for 6 months without any results it’s not good.

Thanks to those who have posted links to flags on iNat. Since taxonomic curation issues should be handled there, I’m closing this thread.
