Own hidden observations not included in custom boundary

So I have a custom boundary to display all the species I found in the area of my usually evening walk. Recently I decided to hide my observations there, so people dont think its an orchid hotspot. However now my observations are no longer displayed to myself in the custom boundary although I am logged in. Is there a workaround for this or am I doing something wrong?

Only publicly accessible locations are visible in Explore, and this boundary is too small to include obscured observations. But there is this feature request:
