Plant chemistry information

What are your go-to resources to find the important chemical compositions of plants? Is there a clearing house, or do you have to go find published papers for each one?

I keep seeing little hints in books about essential oils, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, alkaloids, etc. usually for the more notorious food plants, but I would love to be able to find info for plants I observe locally.

since you’re in the US, you could try this: https://phytochem.nal.usda.gov/phytochem/search. it doesn’t cover everything, but it’s an easy place to start if you don’t know where else to go. this is also nice because you can search by chemical and find plants that contain it.
