Public taxonomic errors

There’s a trucking company called Marten; their trucks feature a bird which flies horizontally and then veers up. Every time I see one, I want to shout “MarTIN!”. What are some others?

Beees

Is “Beees” the name of a company? Does its logo feature an insect that isn’t a bee? Please explain.

News articles about bees often used to feature the wrong species, and sometimes not even a hymenopteran. Like a bee fly.

Although things may be improving with writers being able to pull photos from iNaturalist.

Discourse forces you to have at least 5 characters in a reply, so I couldn’t write bees. So I added an e.

Maybe the bird is really escaping from a Marten?
