Hello! Thank you for getting back to me and for sharing information about your volunteer work. I’m especially interested in learning more about the Certified Habitat Stewards Program. We have Naturalist and Gardener programs here, and I’d love to explore how we might add a Stewards program as well.
I know it is (or was?) a collaboration between the county and the NWF.
NWF runs a landscape certification program called Certified Wildlife Habitat, aimed at both homeowners (and other property owners) as well as whole cities (which requires they get enough properties to be CWH). Habitat Stewards are the volunteers who help promote this program and also help people with questions about such things as landscape design and plant selection.
A quick search for “habitat stewards” brings up some of the following resources:

I’ve been curious about this NWF program as I live on a wooded property and have lots of wildlife attractors, and am working on eliminating invasive plants. I am hesitating because I already get tons on solicitation emails by inquiring about programs like this…does anyone have experience with the NWF CWT program that can dispel my concerns? Thank you.
Hi, I moved these posts to their own topic as they don’t pertain the the Ambassador Program. In the future if you would like to start a side conversation you can reply to a post as a “linked topic” by clicking the arrow in the top left of a reply. Thanks!
