Step 1: it shows very different taxa, not even close
Step 2: This Tetrathemis hyalina for example
Step 3: Showing skunkbushes plant (Chaenostoma sp.)
For that one - I would add an ID of Odonata.
The CV suggestions can be odd if you are set to Seen Nearby, CV does the best it can with what has been observed locally.

I wonder why you have a map of Africa tho. Did you accidentally set the location to Africa on the screen?
No, I didn’t. It automatically showed that map.
For me with no date and location it also shows weird suggestions:
Chaenostoma is one of our plants, so of the 3 of us, I would expect iNat to offer it to me, if at all. But it didn’t.
It’s been fixed. Now makes sense.

Since 15.12.2022 completely random suggestions on PC platform also in Austria
I am having the same problem with random Taxa ID suggestions. I am getting ready to upload some observations of various birds. I get suggestions for plants and not one bird in the list. I am using the website on a computer with Chrome. I am located in the eastern part of the United States.
Could you show an example? In some angles cv always suggest weird things, e.g. for this https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/144228893 photo all suggestions were of Xylocopa bees.
Maybe not such off suggestios, but crabs for a spider, followed by spiders that don’t look like it:
Marina, this is part of the same issue I posted about! The app is acting crazy! It’s not usable until it’s fixed.
@joseph_judy and others can you try again now to see if the suggestions are more reasonable? We found and fixed an issue.

Fortunately the ID suggestions do work smoothly again. By coincidence the verification of the e-mail address was followed be this strange behavior.
