Hello!
Recently I’ve been getting into museum or visitor exhibits with detailed dioramas and murals accurately depicting the flora and fauna of prehistoric and modern ecosystems as well as books with high quality original artwork. Anyone here have a list of recommendations foe these I should check out?

Where are you, geographically? I can highly recommend the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum in Los Angeles, The American Museum of Natural History in New York, and the British Museum in London, but I wouldn’t make a trip half way around the world to see any of them.
Also, you mention past and future ecosystems. My favorite illustrated book of (speculative) future ecosystems is After Man by Dougal Dixon. I loved it when I was eight and I still can learn from it forty years later.

I found the earlier chapters more plausible than the later ones.

That’s one of the things I like about it. It draws the reader into asking, “how plausible should our speculations be? How plausible are current taxa?”
Live in South Florida, actually have a nice visitor center nearby for Everglades National Park.
