I was thinking could there be an inat for rocks, crystals and fossils (and stuff like that). (I realise how long and impractical the creation of this could be, but I am just imagining) Any opinions?

You can post fossils on iNat, but they must be marked as no recent evidence of organism, and there may be some issues with the taxonomy ( https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/curator+guide#extinct ). I think https://www.myfossil.org/ offers way of recording finds and getting help with identification, but I’ve not used it myself, just heard it mentioned by a geology colleague.
