For some reason, when I search for observations of a specific species in a specific area, no observations show up, even though I took some observations in that area. This happened while searching for trooping crumble caps in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.
This also happened with some of my other observations.
I don’t know how this is not a bug
Edit: ahh I see
In fact, it’s the same for all my observations in Aurora.
Could you please tell us the browser or app version, and give a clearer description of the bug
Actually, most of my observations. This is a browser problem.
The accuracy circle around your observation crosses over the boundary box for Aurora, therefore it won’t appear as an observation in Aurora. This is intentional, to prevent observations from being added to a place when there’s a chance they were not found there. You can edit the accuracy circle to make it smaller, if you’re sure where the observation was made.
You can read more about how places and accuracy circles of observations interact here.
Okay wow that was a good one
I think I may have had a similar but not identical problem perhaps related. I go to the Reichert Nature Preserve in Pickney, Michigan often and it’s almost 100 acres overlaps two counties. The boardwalk through the Tamarack Swamp is apparently virtually on the dividing line between counties off by just a few feet to the north. My circle of accuracy overlapped into both bounties. For years it defaulted to Livingston County but starting this year it started defaulting to Washtenaw County on some and Livingston on others. We are talking just a few feet or one long step into the fen to the south in where that boundary is at so I felt it was no big deal until I noticed one plant would go into a project appropriate to Washtenaw County automatically in spite of it being in Livingston County, Not acceptable to me. So I reduced the size of my bounding circle and moved it right over the line where it belonged. Nothing changed! But today I see it is all corrected. I refreshed several times to no avail so I must have been a matter of just having to wait.
thnx I’ll do that in the future.
