Browser, if a website issue: I have tested in Chrome (143.0.7499.170), Edge (143.0.3650.96), and Opera (125.0.5729.49) all these running on windows 11. Same problem in all three.
Step 1: I go to any taxon page. The seasonality chart is blank and says “loading…”.
Step 2: I give it some time and come back, but it is still “loading”. Clicking “History” brings up the history chart OK. But clicking back on seasonality, it still fails to load. Other buttons (like those for flowers and fruits) don’t show up along the top of the chart.
Step 3: I try hitting refresh, but it doesn’t solve it. It doesn’t seem to make a difference whether I am logged in or not. I tested in an incognito window too.
you probably have filtered for a particular place on the taxon page. look in the top-right corner of the page. if you’ve filtered the page for a place where there haven’t been any observations, then it’s possible that no data will be returned, and the page won’t know what to do.
that it says “loading” instead of “no data” could be considered a little misleading though.
Hi, yes, I have a filter for Hong Kong (because that is my area of interest) but all the taxa in my example URLs above are common in HK and have plenty of observations here. As a test, I just cleared the filter for Wild Boar and refreshed the page in chrome, but I am still getting “Loading…”.
they’ve been switching that page to a new version of the API, and it seems like one of new API endpoints has some strange configurations that affects folks probably who aren’t going through the US Azure nodes. so the developers probably will have to fix the configurations.
