I’ve been using Seek for about a year or two now to document things I find. I recently had to uninstall it to save some space for videos on my phone, and upon reinstalling it and logging back in, all my observations and challenges are gone and I don’t know how to get them back. It’s just a little disheartening because I had so many observations and had completed a bunch of challenges in different countries over the years. I’m on an iPhone 13 using iOS 18.3.1, and my Seek app version is 2.17.0.
As far as I know (it an expert of any kind) Seek was designed for children and does not retain observations after deletion.
It does not keep information for the safety of the children.
This being so, I recommend using the iNaturalist app if you want your observations to stay. Although, if the challenges are important to you, the iNaturalist app does not have those.
Yeah I’m mainly just upset that my achievements and challenges are gone, I’ve still got my observations over on iNaturalist but I also had a ton of achievements on Seek that are now gone :(
