So may visit brother who is based in South Korea and noticed there isn’t a lot of species posted on Inat. . . is there a reason, or is there just not many people who use inat in South Korea?
We used to have a prolific forum user based there. He is still active on iNat; I just haven’t seen him here lately.
Anyway, I feel like I remember him saying once a different nature app was more popular there, much in the same way people in Japan use an alternative to Google maps.
ah that makes sense
You should go visit your brother! I always thought Paul posted the coolest things, this lifer especially.
the second one now looks like it has >3 million observations now (compared to 0.8 million in iNaturalist):
Korea has lots of great stuff, I really enjoyed living there - but no iNat at the time! Hikes in more remote mountains can throw up a lot of interesting mammals :)
A few years ago there was a world tour, but I guess this topiuc is outdated by now. Paul also reactis in this topic.
