When I occasionally translate my identification comments into Spanish, Google Translate gives me various translations for “iNaturalist’s Computer Vision”. Today it returned a phrase that I would have translated back as something like “system of artificial vision by computer”…very wordy.
Is there a prefered or formal term in Spanish for iNat’s CV?

I use the equivalent of AI or “image recognition algorithm” when referring to it in German, as I think these are more likely to be understood by users.
I use the MX version of iNat (Naturalista) and I had to really search but it uses “Computer Vision”. It also offers recommended responses in Spanish you may wish to explore, such as this one for when you suspect the CV suggestion is erroneous.
edit to add: here, things that are capitalized are usually trade names so are not translated, if that makes sense.
In Spanish comments I sometimes use “sugerencia automática” (or plural “sugerencias automáticas”) for the taxa suggested by the Computer Vision.
I’ve written “VC” in at least one comment, but if “visión artificial” is more in use, this should be preferred. The article begins with several terms:

I’m in America, so “computadora” is more common here, but my second native language is French, so I’m fine with “ordenador”, which is Rightpondian.
I doubt “computer vision” on iNat is a trade name.
Perhaps tiwane or someone on staff will shed light on why it is capitalized. As I said, usually that here indicates a trade name but not always.
I think if you are addressing people in Mexico, for example, and our local site uses “Computer Vision”, you may wish to consider using the language Naturalista (or the local affiliate) uses but ultimately each user will do what he/she feels best for each situation. I was just providing the actual answer from this website.
edit to add: It is interesting that the suggested response, revised by the admin for MX, deftly avoids any direct reference to Computer Vision specifically but instead refers to “automated suggestions for identification” ( sugerencias de identificación automatizadas).
Thanks, @phma, I got a kick out of that expression. I had not heard that term previously…being very Leftpondian in my own speech habits. ;-)
Unlike my English and Spanish, my French is Rightpondian, as my father was French. My mother also spoke French, but is Salvadoran French a distinct dialect? It seems to be pretty different from both Louisianan and Canadian French.
As to Portuguese, I’ve spent two weeks on each side of the Pond and mix up the accents.
