Here in Southwest Alaska, Spring still seems somewhat distant, although more daylight has been noticeable and appreciated. I am most looking forward to migrant birds of course, but also wood frogs. I hope to get some good documentation of wood frog mating this year because it is quite a site in a tundra pond as opposed to the vernal pool shots I am currently seeing from the Lower 48. I also want to be better this year at documenting nesting birds, particularly shorebirds nesting on the tundra.
