Stats discrepancy between Projects and Places

Looking at a place I created:

And a project using this particular place created
https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/garden-route-district-municipality

Why does the place show 4704 of 4730 confirmed species, whereas the project shows 6776 species?

Am I seeing something wrong way round here?

The project includes records which are still needs id or casual, which do not meet the ‘confirmed’ standard.

If you switch to just research grade observations in the project you get to 4,726 species.

The small remaining variance is likely caused by bugs in lists refreshing on the place which there is not too much you can do about.
