Suggestion: Add Group for "Aquatic Beetles"

Hello everyone,

I’d like to suggest the creation of a new group/category for “aquatic beetles” on the platform. This would significantly simplify identification work, as it would allow us to view all relevant families at once—such as Dytiscidae, Hydrophilidae, Gyrinidae, Haliplidae, Elmidae, and others—without needing to search for each family individually.

This grouping is not only practical for field work and determination but has also become well established in many international contexts, including literature and research communities.

I believe such a category would be a valuable addition for anyone working with aquatic insect fauna. I’d love to hear what others think—and whether this might be feasible from a technical or curatorial standpoint.

There is a project for Aquatic and Subaquatic Beetles, which you can use, for example, to filter observations for identification. Does that address what you are looking for?
