If when you have got an ID on a species it automatically took a photo. So often (especially with butterflies and things like that) I get to a species ID and then I am not quick enough to press the camera button to get an observation.
This seems like a great idea, though it would probably have to be a setting since some people are probably happy just seeing the IDs on their phones without actually taking a photo. This would also presumably help ensure that the photos show the organism from good diagnostic angles.

The design would have to avoid the problem of taking a zillion photos as the phone moves around. One solution to this would be a triggering action that means “the next time you ID to species level, take a photo”.
