I have 3 bare root white cedar saplings. Due to weather, I don’t know when I’ll be able to plant them. Could I put them in these glass milk bottles with a little water for a while?

The roots want to be damp (dampened paper towel, wrapped in that plastic), dark and cool, like a garage or basement before planting. Should be good for a week, check them daily.

I might be able to plant them tonight, but we could get temperatures below freezing later this week. WTHR (local news) is showing lows of 25f Tuesday and 30f Wednesday. Should I hold off?

I just finished putting the Cedars in the ground, moving the front most Serviceberru back so it wasn’t separated from its twin, and moving a Hazlenut off the gas line.
I managed to put it right on top of the gas. I couldn’t have done that better if I was actually trying to.
Now, to fix this. The rabbits chewed right through it over the winter.
