Using Merlin bird calls app to make trip list

I am not a new birder, I’ve been doing it for half a century but I am new to the Merlin app for bird calls and am puzzled. I took the app for a walk recently and just left it running. After an hour there were (let’s say) 30 suggested species identifications that I wanted to verify. I could not/cannot find a way to save that trip list for later review and subsequent uploading to eBird. In fact, while trying to find a way, I somehow managed to delete the entire list of suggested IDs. Any suggestions?

it would be best to ask this question in a forum like https://www.birdforum.net; the iNat forum is for iNaturalist-related topics

I would take a screenshot, then go on a different device and type it all into eBird. Or you could upload to iNat if you need held confirming any ID’s. Hope this helps

Do you know how to navigate back to your saved recordings?

On the off-chance you do not… on my Android phone, on the opening (identify) screen towards the bottom there is a little icon with the label “my sound recordings”. Press that, and a list of your recordings will come up. Press the one you’re interested in, and that recording comes up. You can listen to it again, and note both the birds and when they sang (useful for making iNat submittals.)

The checkboxes to the left of the recordings are used for things like sharing, or anything involving multiple recordings. I used to try to open a file by using the checkbox, and it frequently messed me up.

The three dots in the upper right corner allow you to rename the recording. I always rename it by adding the location to the name.

Any recordings you make are automatically saved. If you want to delete one, the same three dots in the upper right corner give you the option to delete the file.

As long as you don’t hit “Cancel” and you just stop the recording it will be saved in your “My Sound recordings”. You can also click on the name of a bird and it will take you to the section that has that bird recorded. Hit the name again and it will take you to the next section with that bird.
