Long-tailed Aphideater Complex Complex Eupeodes americanus
The day after this, i went to my hometown to celebrate diwali.
Right there, infront of our house, is our teak tree, under the bark, i saw something moving, something like an slender ant.
There it was, a Pseudoscorpion, one of the animals ive always wanted to see in my life.
This is also the first observation of these in the district, and the 2nd report after 116 years. There are less then an thousand observations of these in the country. I also documented it’s maternal care one day after:

Really won’t forget this memory ever.
This is just the sort of thing that @nonbinary-naturalist had in mind with its general request for more people to make videos of what they observe.
That funny oval-shaped critter passing by at the beginning – was it an isopod?
It is an nymph of an lady bug I believe.

@That_Bug_Guy can u confirm?
I’ll have to look into it. Definitely a larva of something.
Good day for galls, leafmines, and fall weather https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/250383547
That photo is INCREDIBLE!! How did you take it?
Was stoked to find a North American Porcupine (Erethizon dorsatu), a long sought-after nemesis species for me.
Very cool!
I saw a short-eared owl for the first time! I was driving, saw a bird on the side of the road, and pulled over and shouted at my husband to take photos lol. Bird photographers around here are obsessed with them, but I’d never managed to see one myself.
That’s so cool! I’m hoping to see one this winter.
So cool! You even got the photo with the owl’s prey!
Wow! You saw it… and you were able to pull over… and your husband was able to get a great photo… your lucky day! Very exciting!
This time of year is cool so the pool is empty. Some four, four and a half meters above the pool’s bottom, I spotted a plant growing from the wall that had a pretty, yellow bloom (mornings only), so the following morning I convinced my husband to get the very tall ladder which we use to climb up to clean our roof after storms. This he set on the bottom of the empty pool and up I climbed. Even so, I had to hold my phone above my head, so the photos of the flowers are not very good, but I feel correct that it is indeed my first Mentzelia observation!
I am especially enamored with the shape of the leaves, which remind me of Christmas trees.
That’s amazing!
That’s the coolest jumping spider!
Just my usual macro gear (Sony A6000 with Laowa 100mm manual macro) and a bit of luck. There is a lookout gazebo in my neighbourhood park along the shore of Lake Ontario that has nice stone/concrete ledges. New bugs frequently find their way here so it’s always a must-check for my daily walk.
A lot of people stay away from manual macro lenses but for me, buying the Laowa secondhand changed my macro game completely.
Great sharpness and I never have to worry about upgrading electronic compatibility. Plus it kind of forces a lot of old-school shooting discipline and refinement of your focusing skills.
A butterfly I thought I observed before, but obviously not:
Common Brown (Heteronympha merope)
Crusader bug (Mictis profana), how can it be profane and a crusader?
My first ant that made it to subspecies Camponotus suffusus ssp. bendigensis:
And even if CV suggestion is wrong, this green maybe-cuckoo-wasp https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/250728850
