The beetle was walking around so appeared alive but has some sort of protrusion. A parasite? On the observation @that_bug_guy suggested it looked like a plant? Or a cordyceps maybe? I’m very curious what you all think.
When you think there might be an additional species in a photo, you can duplicate the observation to create an observation for that additional species, even if you’re not sure what it is. The iNat Forum is not for identification, just inaturalist.org.
