What's wrong with my quaking aspen?

I live in Fort Smith Montana (south central) and I have 2 quaking aspens 1 is fine nice dark leaves. The other one ls 50ft away. They are on the same watering schedule. The soil is sandy w/clay and small pebbles. 2 years ago we fertilized and not any better. Ideas?

Can you add a pic of the regular leaves of the other tree? Not that I can be of much help; my knowledge is mostly on animals, but maybe this can help others figure this out.

Did you upload to Inat? You can identify it as Populus tremuloides and ask in the notes what is wrong with it.

You might ask your local Agricultural Extension Service. They’ll usually know if there’s some common problem or pathogen with the landscaping plants in an area.
