Hi All,
I ran into iNat staff at the International Conference for Participatory Science in the spring and they mentioned that the feature to add projects would be included in the new IOS app. I wondered how far off this would be as I have to develop new training for volunteers on how to add their observations to our traditional project. This would help with our planning.
Thanks, in advance

There are three iOS apps on iNaturalist:
- the original iNaturalist app, or iNaturalist Classic
- the most current iNaturalist app, known as iNaturalist or iNat Next
- Seek, which is probably not what you’re looking for
The feature to add projects to observations using iNat Next is upcoming from what I know. It certainly doesn’t exist yet, and when I’m on mobile I very much have to go to the web version on my browser just to do things like reorder photos, add annotations, add observation fields, and add them to projects. I hope it happens soon.

I have to say, I find myself constantly returning to the classic iNat app and avoiding using iNat Next as I really don’t like most of how iNat Next works and is organized.
Best is, of course, the browser version.

I appreciate you laying out these platforms. Yes, we have volunteers collect observations using iNaturalist Classic. I thought I heard the iNaturalist staff member say that they would eventually retire iNaturalist Classic, so I am trying to get sense of when the transition will take place so I can revise our trainings.
