Which profile picture is best?

I have to ask: what profile pic would be the best?

This one? My current photo (Mediterranean Red Sea Star)

Or this one? (Sea cucumber, Holothuria sp.)
I can’t decide, so I hope you guys can help!

Thanks!

Thanks in advance for your votes and thoughts!

Choose one that works when it is cropped down to the tiny tiny circle - hand with red starfish - will be easy for iNatters to remember you by.

PS your profile says ornithology - has that changed? If you mostly observe and ID birds, then a birdy profile would be better. But starfish on hand is definitely memorable!

I know, but after this holiday I added this to my description: “I am also interested in all marine organisms in Europe, and I’m improving my ID-ing skills on them.” Because I can’t help it :smiling_face_with_tear:

Then you also need to update your profile here in the forum - that is what I saw.

You’ll need to keep track of your profile as you age!

I chose sea cucumber since the seastar one has another person in it. It can be hard sometimes, with pictures featuring multiple people, to figure out which person is the one using that image for their avatar. The seastar one is really good too, though!

For what it’s worth, I like the visual contrast in the Sea Star photo. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you everyone for your votes!
The Sea Star photo wins!

She was my scuba instructor for that day. As I don’t have an Open Water certificate (yet) I can’t dive alone. She is also a huge nature enthusiast, so she doesn’t mind me using the photo!

Very relatable. Marine organisms are great! I’m especially fond of Polychaeta. I’ve been hooked ever since I had an excursion to a marine bio station in the Wadden Sea last May and even more after a second one to Spain earlier this year.

I should probably learn how to scuba dive as well. For now I’ve been only looking at intertidal habitats during low tide.

Welcome to the dark… i mean MARINE side. I like the red contrast of the seastar.
