Why can I not access iNat.com from iNat.ca?

I use iNat.ca. Sometimes I get requests for id’s from the US. In order to add anything, I need to sign in to iNat.com. It’s not a huge problem, but I’m wondering why, when it’s all the same platform, I need to go through this extra step?

Those are different websites, all you need to do is change the link they send you (if that’s how you get to those obs.).

I think you mean inaturalist.org? (we don’t use inat.com).

You can always just change the domain name in the URL. If someone sends you https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/98329255 for example, you can change it to https://inaturalist.ca/observations/98329255 No need to log in to inaturalist.org.

Ahh, thank you. And yes I did mean iNat.org! I was opening a new tab and re-signing in to iNat.org.
