Why is a Treehugger dragonfly called a Treehugger?

Why are theese dragonflies called Tree"Huggers"?

if this is referring to Tyriobapta torrida, it refers to their typical habit of using tree trunks (and other vertical surfaces) as perches (unlike most other dragonflies which prefer the tip of a leaf or twig).

Dragonflies generally have wonderful evocative common names. They must have an excellent publicist.

Spiketails, snaketails, grappletails, clubtails, whitetails. These sound like they come from a fantasy novel.
