It has an open license and is research grade. I’m pulling research grade bird records from GBIF for a project I manage and can’t figure out why this one is not included. If someone can clarify, that would help me assess how many similar records I’m “missing” by going through GBIF.
Sometimes the GBIF badge fails to appear in the iNat record even when it’s actually in GBIF, and clicking on the DQA selections can “reindex” and make the badge appear. But that’s not the case here as it’s not in GBIF but should be. It’s not like it’s a very recent record.
Yeah, I feel like it should be on GBIF. The only obvious reason I can think of is that the license was recently changed to something compatible with GBIF and it just hasn’t been included in the export yet.
Very strange, especially if the licence hasn’t been changed only recently. I would suggest contacting GBIF about this (and letting us know what they say).
I also wondered if they had changed their license recently, but it doesn’t look like there is any way for me to check that. But what I’m hearing is that, in theory, this record should be in GBIF, which means that I shouldn’t be missing too many relevant records for my research. Thanks, everyone.
