Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.): I login to my iNat page and under my alerts, I have lets say… 18 notifications. I click on the list and I see 18 new updates. However, once I click on one of them, they ALL go away and if I click back to the alerts list, I can only see 10 of them. I cannot see the other 8.
That’s not a bug, it’s how current notification syste works, if you already clicked and restarted notifications, you need to go to your notificatinos page https://www.inaturalist.org/home to see those, but you can open notification list and “right click+open in a new tab” those notifications of interest and list won’t go away until you click anywhere on a page (so you can go to another tab and list will still be opened).
for what it’s worth, opening notifications on the apps will clear only the notifications related to the associated observation. and here’s a web page offers a way to do something similar. it may or may not be useful while we’re waiting on the system notifications revamp: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/is-there-an-easy-way-to-open-all-notifications/25913/35.
Well, hopefully they will get on it eventually. It’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve been with iNat for several years and I would have hoped this was a single update type issue. :(
