Nicki, those are beautiful shots! I feel like they could be be entries in more than one category, both plant and insect in such good focus. (I struggle with that.)

(Am I the only one obsessed with this fly’s feet? I do not think I have ever seen any quite like them. Go to the observation and check the sideview for even more peeps but prepare yourself, the whole creature is just… a design stunner.)

Wow, everybody’s pictures are so beautiful! Mine aren’t as nice (took them with a phone), but I’ll share them anyway.

I guess grasshoppers can handle spice (also I thought that peppers repelled them, but I guess not.)

Beautiful shots! Do you mind sharing with us the gear used? And… are you doing any kind of focus stacking here?

You can see the cameras and lens used for those photos by clicking on the little info button underneath each photo in my observation grid. I caught both of the bees when they were moving very slowly - the honeybee was just waking up and was very still; the day was still chilly when I caught the bumble bee. The robber flies are terrific - they sit and pose. I have not tried focus stacking with insects. Even when they are moving slowly, they are still a little fast for that. I have used it with spiders that are sitting motionless in their webs. It works really well.

I tried that already but there was nothing. When I went to your observations list, I did notice that many there had complete camera details. ?? Is this a system… moth?

Ah, I see the problem. I got lost in the thread! I was clicking on somebody else’s images. Sorry about that.

Yours are great too!

Welcome to the forum @Vic – wonderful images! I cannot wait to see what titles you give them. Do you by any chance know what type of bird that is? (What a great capture!)

Thanks! It’s a yellow-rumped warbler.
