Description of need:
There doesn’t appear to be a way to comment in the annotations tab. For several species, identifying sex and life stage can be tricky. It would be nice to be able to explain your annotations to educate others unfamiliar with the phenology/sexual dimorphism/life stages of different species. This would also allow for multiple people to argue their case for annotations as well.
Feature request details:
I envision something very similar to the info tab for species ID. When putting annotations you could add reasoning for your choice. It would also be nice to add comments to further discussion on annotations. While you could just discuss these topics in the info tab, I believe it would cause clutter and confusion should people be debating the species ID and the phenology/sex annotations in the same tab. The annotation comments could be placed between the annotations themselves and the “Projects” subsection. Each comment could contain a label for which attribute it is referring to. For example with this mountain goat, say I decided to mark the individual as female. In the annotation comments I could write “marked as female due to the presence of a kid, thin horn bases, and sharp curvature of horns.” This comment could then also have the label “sex” as I am referring specifically to that attribute. People could then reply to my comment to ask questions or argue against my judgement of the individual being a female.
This seems unnecessary and can just be done in the comments of an observation if needed
Right, more important seems the ability to enter your own annotation if you disagree (as opposed to just agree/disagree as it is now). Comments can be observation comments as they are now.

But I CAN see fruit – and can only downvote no.
The advantage of simply leaving a comment, is that everyone who bothers to open the obs can see it. A comment among the right column is like observation fields, which I almost never look at or use.
