Feature request details:
If a subspecies is endemic to a particular locale, and I want to mark it as such, the process (as described by @bouteloua here) is quite convoluted, and not as straightforward as marking EM at a species level:

  1. Look up the country or locale for the taxon
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click the (tiny) View Check List page
  3. Change the “rank” filter from “species” to “any”
  4. Search the subspecies by the full trinomial name
  5. Click on the Edit button
  6. Modify Established Means from “unknown” to “endemic”
  7. Save

This makes it hard to mark subspecies of particular importance for conservation as endemic with a few clicks. Annotating all endemic subspecies for a given place following this process is very time consuming. I’d like to request that Establishment Means data be directly editable from a Taxon page’s Status tab (similar to how common names can be added from the taxon page), see for example the entry for Tiaris olivaceus ssp. ravidus below:

The process would involve adding a new record, looking up the locale (e.g. a country) and selecting the relevant EM value.

To clarify, this is for adding new statuses and not editing existing ones (which is already possible by clicking View)?

Correct. I updated the title of the feature request for clarity.
