Android app observations don't show computer vision suggestion icon?

I’ve seen a variety of observations where the ID was obviously a CV suggestion, but there was no icon to show it. This could be a user manually typing in a CV suggestion, but it seems to happen too often for that to be the case. Recently, I just uploaded a bunch of observations with the Android app, and I noticed that none of them show the CV icon when I used the CV suggestion. (You can only see the icon on the web anyway, which is perhaps a different issue.)

It’s hard to test this with other users’ observations, but looking through a few dozen, the icon was visible for observations uploaded with Seek and the iPhone app (along with no designations, which were presumably via the website). Yet, no observation uploaded with the Android app showed the CV suggestion icon.

I’m not sure this is the actual issue, but so far that would be my guess. Would that be a bug? Or a feature request? Or is the issue something else?

Here’s a few observations where I used the CV suggestion but the icon isn’t there. All say I used the Android app on the bottom right.

Here’s what the identification with the icon should look like:

I find this icon useful in interpreting IDs of other users, and IDs I have made myself. There was even some confusion recently as to whether or not I came up with the name myself (which I didn’t) or it was a suggestion. The icon eliminates this problem, which I’m assuming was why it was created in the first place.

I can also confirm this in version 1.20.23. I used CV and there was no CV icon because owners_identification_from_vision is not set to true.
Moving this to bug reports.

Going through an overly incorrect autosuggested taxon which needs addressing ( tribe Macronychiini ), I am noticing numerous obs where user has placed at tribe, but there is no autosuggest symbol. This is too obscure a taxon to be chance I think. Also, it’s only on Android obs.

What’s happening?
Is this a bug or an issue with UI somehow?

As someone who mostly uploads observations from the Android app, I can confirm that it doesn’t show any CV symbol for Android app observations.

The Android app itself doesn’t display the computer vision indicator on CV IDs, so that’s expected. But the website does (as does iOS), for CV IDs made on Android: e.g. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/328296327 (view from web or iOS app)

Not sure what the ID adding workflow was for the linked observations in the OP.

None of my observations uploaded via the Android app have the CV symbol on the identification I added when uploading, despite me using CV for almost everything that isn’t birds. For example, these four, just from my most recent observations:

https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/329447377
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/329447277
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/324185321
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/330992443

Which version of the app are you both using @bouteloua @suntooth ?

There were too many placed at tribe Macronychiini for this to be chance.
The four I posted were on OP were just four of many many I came across in UK obs.
There must be more to it ( as @suntooth examples seem to concur )
Very few users would know to select this tribe without using autosuggest in some way.
And anyone in UK who truly knew this taxon would most likely place to genus or species, not use tribe even…

Ok thankyou.

Another user also confirmed use of autosuggest despite symbol missing :

Same as bouteloua, 1.37.2 (638).

I cannot reproduce the ‘missing computer vision icon’- problem with 1.37.2 (638)
