Description of need: When uploading multiple photos for a single species observation using the app, you have to individually select and then group the photos before uploading. It would be nice to have an option to automatically group all the photos you have imported instead of selecting them all individually.
Can you say a bit more about this please?
On the current Android App at least, I routinely select all images I want in the gallery, then share to iNaturalist, where all images show up in a single observation, ready for ID and then submission. Under what circumstances do you need to deal with individual images that need to be combined?
This is my experience as well. I just have to be careful which order I select the images to ensure the image I want first in my observation is actually first. I just select it first. Too easy.
Reordering is also easy though: tap, hold, and drag an image to where you want it to go.
The feature request is referring to the newest mobile app, currently only released officially on iOS, but you can manually install it on Android. OK thanks, that wasn’t clear from the OP, and why I was asking for more information.
I would also prefer to have to as the default behavior.
I upload many pictures from one observation at a time. OTOH The current behavior is only better for uploading lots of pictures from all the observations from one outing. But the photos are too small on the phone screen to reliably group the images into observations. The idea is good, but a practicality makes execution impossible.
