After the webinar are all the attendees who filled out the form official ambassadors or is there more we need to do? I have no clue if I’m “allowed” to say I am an Inat ambassador yet.
Simply attending the webinar does not make us ambassadors. To become ambassadors, we have to fill the registration form linked on the iNaturalist Ambassador Program page. It’s a big green button!
On a different note, it would be a decent idea for iNat staff to create a separate forum category for ambassador-related posts
I had the same question. Im assuming if we signed up we are in.
No. I shared a link to the Ambassador sign-up page in the Zoom call. You’ll need to fill that out.
Sorry, I should have clarified. I signed up on the link that wasn’t the zoom sign up.
@tiwane I filled that out before the meeting, could you confirm if I am an ambassador?
If you received a confirmation email, yes. Things to keep in mind:
-
this is still very early in the program, as was mentioned a few times in the webinar. We’re still trying to figure out what this will be and right now it’s sort of in the testing stage.
-
we will be doing some auditing of people who fill out forms to make sure there’s nothing concerning in their moderation history or haven’t met the prequisites. I’m saying that generally, it’s not about @yayemaster or anyone specific.
I’m not certain that I received a confirmation email. Should I fill out the form again?
Did anyone receive the recorded presentation yet?
I was sent the recording yesterday afternoon. The email title is RECORDING: Intro to the iNaturalist Ambassadors Webinar from ambassadors@inaturalist.org.
Up to you. Or check your spam folder to make sure it wasn’t routed there.
I’m going to resubmit it
How long after applying should we wait for a confirmation (or other, I guess!) email before initiating a followup?
Quickly. If you don’t get one, please check oyur spam folder and if you can’t find it, please email ambassadors@inaturalist.org
It was indeed in the spam folder. Thanks for the tip. Also, it was not from iNaturalist, it was from TypeForm Notifications, subject “Thank you for filling out our Typeform”, which made it easy to overlook in the spam folder.
